The Adventurer was a video game magazine that was published bi-yearly by LucasArts from Fall 1990 until Winter 1996. Due to the increasing popularity of adventure games LucasArts decided to publish their own gaming magazine to provide gamers a publication where they could read about upcoming LucasArts games and interviews with the development team.

Pocket Power was a Nintendo magazine created for the release of the 1989 film “The Wizard”. The Wizard starring Fred Savage was a movie that heavily revolved around video games, in particular Nintendo products. The movie follows a boy and his brother who run away from home and hitchhike cross country with the help of a girl they meet along the way to compete in the ultimate video game championship, Video Armageddon for a grand prize of $50,000.

Nintendo Fun Club was a free to join fan club marketed by Nintendo. Customers that have purchased a Nintendo Entertainment System could join the fan club by filling out the registration form that came with the system or a Fun Club insert included packed in with Nintendo Entertainment System games.

Nintendo Power is a video game magazine that was published monthly by Nintendo to cover news, previews, reviews and in depth look at games released for Nintendo platforms as well as upcoming Nintendo consoles and accessories. The first issue of Nintendo Power was released in 1988, covering content from both July and August of 1988. Nintendo distributed the magazine as an annual subscription service as well as to retailers to sell individually to non-subscribers.
