Hideki Kamiya Biography

Hideki Kamiya is a Japanese video game designer and director known for his fast-paced action games such as Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101. Kamiya began his career at Capcom in 1994 as a game designer. His first assignment was the original Resident Evil where he took on the role of planner under the direction of Shinji Mikami.

PlatinumGames is a video game developer based in Osaka, Japan and was formed when ODD Inc and SEEDS Inc merged in October 2007. ODD Ltd. was founded by former Capcom producer Tatsuya Minami in February 2006 changing names to ODD Inc. in July 2007. SEEDS Inc was founded by Shinji Mikami, Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya in August 2006 after the closure of Capcom’s Clover Studio. ODD Inc and SEEDS Inc merged in October 2007 and changed their name to PlatinumGames Inc.
