Al Lowe - Gameography

Al Lowe is an American video game designer, programmer and musician known for his work at Sierra On-Line in the 1980s and early 1990s. Lowe worked on many adventure games at Sierra On-Line but is best known for creating the Leisure Suit Larry series.

Starting his career at Sierra On-Line in 1982, Lowe was assigned to create Disney based educational games. After the development and release of several games based on Disney properties, Lowe took on the lead programming role for King Quest III, King Quest IV and the original Police Quest.

Inspired by Chuck Benton’s text-based adventure game Softporn Adventure which was published by Sierra On-Line in 1982, Lowe built upon the concept to create Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards. The success of the game spawned multiple sequels and before long the Leisure Suit Larry games were one of Sierra’s most popular game series.
